PERMISSIONS

IMPORTANT: Vicky is transfeminine and genderfluid, meaning that they present feminine but do not see themselves as a "woman". Other characters can refer to Vicky by any pronouns without worrying about misgendering them.

As their writer, I use they/he as their base. To keep things coherent, I will only use one set of pronouns throughout any given tag, to minimize confusion of who is being referred to.

World Information: The setting is not unlike our own modern world, circa 2015. There are no major differences that separate it from the Earth we know.

Character Information:

The year is 1988. The Tolonen family, having long held roots within a small, remote lake town in northern Finland, welcomes its ninth and final child. They name the child Viktor with hopes that he will outgrow his runt-ish size and become strong not only physically but in faith, just as his brothers and sisters before him have. The village elders whisper of the silent boy born with near white-blond hair being a bad omen, but his parents choose to ignore it.

From a young age, Viktor was drawn to beautiful things. At first his parents simply thought him a born-flirt with the way he stared and smiled at the pretty, painted women in town. That changed as soon as he was old enough to stumble into his sisters' closets, caught in the act of wearing their dresses and shoes. As traditionalists, his parents wouldn't allow one of their sons to become a disgrace to their family, and from then on, Viktor was made to accompany his father on every hunting or fishing trip taken.

Despite the manner in which they happened, those times with his father were precious memories. Not just for the chance to spend time with the man, but for the opportunity to find his new obsession. Viktor quickly traded the dresses he would squirrel away under his bed for the pretty corpses of his hunts kept in shoe boxes, instead. When confronted with this, Viktor would lie and manipulate his way out of it, often blaming it on his sisters trying to take revenge on him. He quickly learned that it was easier to deceive others in order to continue as he wished; but due to his overzealous enthusiasm for shooting and dressing the animals, and after many years and growing concerns, his father stopped taking him hunting altogether.

Viktor realized then that this world didn't understand him. As he grew older, he grew more beautiful—and when a stranger would mistake him for a woman, it would bring about a rush of euphoria he'd only ever felt while hunting before. He still watched the painted ladies in town, yearning to be free to dress and act the way they did; and his ability to find the beauty and practicality in a corpse whenever he would happen upon some dead animal in the forest never grew any more quiet either. Living rejected by his own family, and by the whole town too, Viktor knew that the only way he could live freely would be by leaving.

It wasn't until after graduating upper secondary school that he was able to manage this, where he left home to live and study anthropology at the University of Helsinki. Throughout his studies, Viktor's fascination with the human condition took on an obsessive quality. He enjoyed learning about different cultures, but ultimately, Viktor's inclination to adopt the customs of dead civilizations and collect roadkill still led to him being ridiculed and ostracized by his peers.

Despite this, Viktor was still seen as beautiful by many, and after graduating from university, he was even scouted to a small modelling agency. He spent the years after traveling Europe and even taking a trip or two to the states, gaining popularity and attention unlike anything he had experienced before. With this newfound taste of affection and fanaticism, Viktor's ego quickly grew to gross proportions, and his previously quiet tendency to assert himself as others' superior grew increasingly louder. This condition only worsened when he encountered his first real roadblock in his career—Venla.

Viktor had made a name for himself as an androgynous model, often getting dressed and painted to be more feminine than masculine; but when Venla arrived, one by one his ongoing jobs were handed to her, instead. Hurt pride quickly turned into seething jealousy that only grew bigger as time went on.

One day, Viktor had enough, and coaxed Venla into a drive out of the city. He took her all the way back to his hometown, where he dragged her into the forest and brutally murdered her. He desecrated her body, cut pieces of her flesh off to eat raw in an attempt to steal her beauty, and stole her clothes to wear before burning his along with her corpse.

Then he walked his way home, where he murdered his mother and sisters before his father came home from work, butchered and cooked their meat to turn into a lovely dinner, and waited. When his father returned he knocked the man out and tied him up, before presenting him with a feast made of his own family. The look in his father's eyes was heavenly, he would say, almost as much as the sight of his family home up in flames soon after.

Viktor has been, understandably, on the lamb since. He left Finland altogether, and without his family ties (besides his brothers of course), decided it was time to let Viktor die, and allow Vicky to be born. Now free of everything that tied him down before, Vicky has turned his obsession with beauty and death into his own business, handcrafting leather goods made from human remains.

Personality:

Vicky is an eye-catching person, and this is something he is well aware of. He takes painstaking pride in his appearance, and will refuse to allow others to see him if he hasn't had the opportunity to make himself look perfect. This obsession with his own perfection is so deep, that if someone were to drop in on him unexpectedly before he had the chance to put his face on, he would have a complete meltdown, likely ending in violence.

His vanity, however, is not limited to his appearance. After studying a myriad of sciences, arts and languages, Vicky has an exceedingly high opinion of his intellectual abilities as well. Often, people would simply think him to be cultured with how scholarly and refined his tastes, as well as manners, have become; but the reality is that it's all done in an effort to manipulate others into believing that he's as great as he thinks he is. Vicky knows that all it takes to gain the love of others is a few well placed lies—and if he poises himself with grace and elegance and presents as the beautiful, intelligent femme, people will hang onto his every word. In his opinion, all he's doing is winning the affection he rightly deserves.

The pride and perfectionism he takes in himself extends to his art as well. Though many might consider the use of human remains in clothing to be disgusting, Vicky has always found a beauty in death unlike any other. His work is deliberate and slow, from acquiring the perfect materials to executing the very best techniques for his canvas—all in an effort to create an extraordinary piece that he would quote as being the apex where the human condition and art collides.

That isn't to say though that Vicky does not enjoy the collection process as well. He is a pure sadist, through and through, and enjoys the hunt for his perfect victim more only because he knows he has the talent and skill to turn them into something incredible. Vicky is a firm believer in that the beauty of humanity can only be experienced through the highest highs and lowest lows, and as such, will torture his victims both physically and mentally before killing them.

His interests come and go in excess, leading him to having vast, eclectic collections and many hobbies, tossing things aside just as soon as he becomes bored. And for as strong as his visions can be, if even the smallest of details does not go as planned, Vicky will lose interest immediately. If the beauty he found in someone's skin was achieved through cosmetic procedures, he would no longer desire to harvest it. Fickle even in the forging of relationships, Vicky's interest and affection in someone could immediately sour for something as small as the person not answering his needling, prying questions.

In the worst case, if Vicky perceives someone's "disloyalty" to be extreme enough, he will not rest until he ensures that the other person is as miserable as possible. Vicky will always argue that creating elaborate, exacting plans is more cathartic than simply killing someone for their impudence; because in the end there is nothing better than taking one's enemy, bringing them as low as their fragile mind can possibly go while knowing that he was the one to bring them there, before consuming them whole.

Roleplay Sample:

The insult, as Roman sees it, doesn’t feel like one. It’s awkward in the same way slipping into clothes meant for another person are. Even if the style suits, the tailoring phenomenal, Roman’s words wash over Vicky as if they were meant for someone whose feelings reach farther than their own. Because they don’t care if Leo lies to them about who he was in a previous life he’s failed out of, to the point where he finds himself in Miami, drunk at midnight and looking for prostitutes in a Henry Poole suit. They don’t care that Roman clings to this sad, pathetic relationship as if it were the last buoy keeping him from being swallowed up by the waves of a miserable life.

All they care about is what these people can provide for them, taking what is rightfully theirs by whatever means necessary. Vicky doesn’t fight, because they don’t hold onto enemies. They simply consume them.

But when Roman turns their direction and responds in Russian, finally speaking in a manner that isn’t so clumsy and instead has the capacity to refine his needling statements, it isn’t his words that send Vicky over the edge. It’s the way he grabs his drink, and like the churl he is, has the audacity to toss its contents as if this were some lowbrow catfight.

Cold, sticky drink douses Vicky’s front, splashes across their jaw and soaks into their garment; and it’s by a hair-thin thread that they keep themselves from lunging at the man like an animal. Even if their eyes are wide and wild with fury, even if their breath is barely contained in their lungs, even if the hand holding their cigarette is trembling. “Stupid worm,” Vicky’s voice is shuddering, too, as they struggle to keep it even, “mark my words, I will ruin your life. Every sad little scrap you hold onto, I will steal from you, and when you are at your most pitiful, pained moment, I will gut you like the pig you are and let the birds feast on your pathetic remains.”

Vicky takes a deep, shuddering breath and closes their eyes. One, two, three... Their eyes open, and they deposit their cigarette into the nearby ashtray. Then they stand, and while passing Dino they slip their fingers into the man’s water to wipe across their eyes and smudge their makeup. To anyone looking at the scene from across the deck, Vicky looks like nothing more than a weeping damsel. If Roman wants to ruin his friendship with Leo, then so be it.
